How PRO Tasks are Escalated
When you upgrade your system to Notion PRO, it’s important to understand the impact of turning on professional monitoring for a task:
1. If a task is not professionally monitored, you will only be sent push notifications when a sensor is triggered.
2. If a task is enabled for professional monitoring, you will receive additional notifications when a sensor is triggered. Use the handy chart below to understand how arming/disarming your system impacts the notifications you receive for professionally monitored tasks.

Understanding the escalation process below will help you choose which tasks to professionally monitor and how to react. When a Notion Sensor detects certain activity on a professionally monitored task, an escalation begins.
This timeline shows the progression of notifications when an escalation occurs. You can clear an escalation at any time if no further action is required. Once the escalation is cleared, no additional notifications will be sent.
Arming & Disarming your System
If you enable any door, window, or garage door tasks for professional monitoring, be sure to arm your system when you want additional notifications by tapping the button on your Home screen.
When should you arm your system?
Here are some recommended times you might arm your system:
At night
Have peace of mind when you go to bed by arming your system. Plus, enable Critical/Urgent Alerts to override your phone's do not disturb settings.
When traveling
When you're on vacation or traveling away for extended time, get additional notifications for doors so you don't miss something while you're away.
When you're away from home
From leaving for work to running an errand, arming your system means doors you've enabled for PRO will get escalated.

Arm/Disarm Button
Tap the button with the shield in it to arm and disarm your system. Refer to our chart to understand when tasks are escalated when your system is armed/disarmed. Your Home screen will only display an arm/disarm button when you enable doors or windows to be professionally monitored.

Quickly view how many tasks are being professionally monitored and will escalate if an event occurs. This number may change as you arm/disarm your system.

How do I turn on critical or urgent alerts?
With Notion PRO, you can turn on critical or urgent alerts.
How do I remove the 30 second delay on arming my Notion PRO system?
Open the Notion App and go to System> Info > Your Plan > and select Off under Delay Arm Start. This will remove the 30 second buffer to get out the door before your system is armed. It will arm immediately.
How do I add or change an additional contact?
You can add an additional contact during the initial setup of your Notion PRO system. If you want to remove or edit an additional contact after that, please call Customer Success at 877-668-4660.
How do I add a promo code?
You can add a promo code in the in-app registration flow when you first sign-up for PRO. If you have already signed up for PRO and would like to add a promo code to your subscription plan, please reach out to our support team at support@getnotion.com or 877-668-4660.
How will I receive a Notion PRO receipt and how is tax accounted for?
You will be automatically billed each month for the rate of the subscription plan minus your applied promo code discount, if applicable.
Each month you will automatically receive a receipt via email if you were charged for that month. The email will also include two attachments: an invoice and receipt. On the receipt you will see the price for your subscription plan and the included applicable sales tax. Notion will pay the state tax on your behalf and you will only play the flat fee for the subscription plan.
What are the Notion PRO payment terms and conditions?
By submitting a payment, you agree to the following:
1. You authorize Notion to debit your bank account/debit card or charge your credit card for the total amount and date shown.
2. You authorize Notion to credit your specified bank account or credit card in the appropriate amount for any refunds or other billing adjustments.
3. If you select a debit card as your payment source, Notion may process your payment(s) over the STAR, Pulse, NYCE or ACCEL networks (or another network, other than the primary network brand indicated on your card).
4. You agree to be bound by any rules your financial institution requires for ACH debit transactions or that your debit card or credit card issuer requires for debit card or credit card transactions.
5. You agree not to use Notion payment systems for payment testing, carding, loyalty abuse, theft, fee abuse or any other use that we believe in our sole discretion is a fraudulent or inappropriate use.
6. You agree if your payment is in violation of these terms and conditions, we reserve the right in our sole discretion to either limit the type of payments that you may use or reject the transaction.
7. YOU AGREE THAT NOTION SHALL BEAR NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSSES OF ANY KIND THAT YOU MAY INCUR AS A RESULT OF AN ERRONEOUS STATEMENT, ANY DELAY IN THE ACTUAL DATE ON WHICH YOUR ACCOUNT IS DEBITED OR YOUR FAILURE TO PROVIDE ACCURATE AND/OR VALID PAYMENT INFORMATION.
Do I need to obtain a user registration or permit to alert the authorities of an event?
Many municipalities require that you obtain a user registration or permit to alert the authorities of an event. You should check directly with your municipality to confirm their requirements. If your municipality requires a user registration or permit, you are responsible for following those requirements, including renewing the registration or permit where applicable. Some municipalities may not require a user permit or registration.
If you receive a registration/permit number from your municipality, you must enter it into the Notion app to ensure the authorities will have your permit number information in the event of an emergency. Some municipalities may not provide a user permit or registration number.
How do I cancel my subscription plan?
You can cancel your Notion PRO subscription plan in the Notion app. Open the Notion App and go to System> Info > Your Plan > Cancel Plan.
